Happy New Year!

In starting this blog, I am hoping to share news and insight into the field of polymer mechanochemistry; primarily by creating simple, concise summaries of scientific articles.

I obtained my PhD in polymer mechanochemistry several years ago, and while I am no longer involved in research, I have attempted to keep an eye on the more notable breakthroughs and research in the area. Polymer mechanochemistry lies at the intersection of many disciplines such as chemistry, polymer physics and materials science, and is sadly often overlooked, despite being responsible for the underlying phenomena in a myriad of industrially-relevant contexts wherever polymers are used.

My hope is that through providing short, easily-understood insights into recent breakthroughs in polymer mechanochemistry, I can help to bring the field to the attention of more people, and demystify the sometimes seemingly impenetrable literature.
